Rules & Regulation - Other Disciplinary Rules

1. Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited within and outside the school premises while the student is wearing school uniform. For breach of this rule, a first time offender will be fined ` 300.00 along with notification to his/her parents or guardian. For a second time offender, punishment will include suspension from classes without leave for a week along with a fine of ` 500.00. A Transfer Certificate (TC) will be given to the student in case of third offence.

2. Drugs & Liquor

If a student is found intoxicated or in possession of drugs or liquor in or outside the school, action will be taken by the school authority. Any accused in this case will be suspended and if found guilty with evidence, a TC will be given to him/her.

3. Theft

A student found stealing things big or small will be dealt with a fine of ` 50.00 or even with expulsion according to the severity of the case.

4. Eating & Chewing

Eating or chewing things in the classroom is strictly prohibited especially during class. All eatable items should be kept inside the tiffin box. If a student is found eating or chewing, he/she will be required to throw away whatever he/she is eating and made to stand up for a while.

5. Failing to do Home Work

Any student failing to do Home Work will be dealt with by the subject teacher concerned in whatsoever ways he/she deems fit.

6. Wearing improper uniform

Students are expected to come to school every day with full and proper school uniform except on particular occasion(s) when they are exempted from wearing school uniform. A student having any problem in connection with school uniform must bring a letter from his/her parents or guardian addressed to the Principal through the teacher i/c PT.

If the teacher i/c PT is not satisfied with the student’s uniform, punishment will be given as under:

1st time–A fine of Rs 10.00

2nd time–A fine of Rs 20.00

3rd time–A fine of Rs 30.00

4th time–A fine will be doubled (i.e. Rs 60.00)

7. Keeping hair

i)For boys, hair must not be kept too long as to cover the ears.

ii)For girls, cutting hair too short as boys is not allowed.

iii)Shaving all hair or part of the hair above the ears is strictly prohibited.

iv)Bleaching and colouring of hair is strictly prohibited for both boys and girls. Only black-dye may be used if and when circumstances demand.

v)Boys cut and over short hair is strictly prohibited for High School and Higher Secondary School girls.

vi)Shaved hair cut, bald cut (brush-cut over the ears) bald hair-cut and growing long hair is strictly prohibited for boys.

vii)Spiky hair dress and fancy hair styles of any kind is strictly prohibited.

viii)No students shall keep his/her hair in any manner which can make the hair look unusual or over stylish than the normal student look.

ix)Applying of hair-gel of any kinds (super hard, water gloss, wet look, etc.) and over-oiling of hair is not encouraged and it should not be too dry either

Fine and suspension from classes for two (2) weeks can be resorted to for violating this rule. The student will be fined as under:

1st time–A fine of Rs 10.00

2nd time–A fine of Rs 20.00

3rd time–A fine of Rs 30.00

4th time–A fine will be doubled (i.e. Rs 60.00)

8.Wearing necklaces, rings, etc.

Wearing of necklaces, rings, bangles, etc. or having in possession of any other things like comics and books not related to his/her studies in the school is not allowed. Anything of this sort found in possession of a student will be seized and it will not be returned.

9. Cosmetics

Use of cosmetics and make-up (lipsticks, nail polish, eye brows, etc.) and disfiguring any part of the body with unnecessary marks is prohibited. Students violating this will be required to clean or remove such things from their bodies.

10. Late

Any student coming late for school should report himself/herself to class teacher concerned immediately. Late comer will be fined Rs 10.00. Any late comer failing to report himself/herself will be taken as truant and will be required to pay usual misconduct fine of Rs 50.00

11. Absence

Absence from school without permission will cause a fine of Rs 30.00 per day.

12. Truancy

Any student who keeps himself/herself away from the class will be required to remain in a kneeling position for two successive periods and to pay a fine of Rs 50.00 (No student is allowed to go home or leave the class without permission). Half day absence without permission is dealt as truancy. A student having played truancy thrice may be given a Transfer Certificate.

13. Payment of fines

If a student has a fine of Rs 30.00 or more (for any reason) at a time, his/her parents/guardian should pay the fine at the school.

14. Mis-behaviour in the public

A student found behaving unwell or unbecoming of a student in the public or in the school campus may be dealt with according to the severity of the student’s behaviour. Transfer Certificate may be given in certain cause.

15. Carving, scribbling, etc.

Carving, scribbling and disfiguring desks, benches and any other furnitures and writing with chalks, pens, pencils on the walls and any part of the building is strictly prohibited. Disfiguring/damaging of the school property must be dealt with seriously and the minimum fine for this is Rs 10.00.

16. Making noises, etc.

Making noises and playing with others during the morning devotion and any other meeting as well as in the class is prohibited. Any student disobeying this rule will be given a reasonable punishment by the teacher concerned.

17. Unfair practice in Examination

Any student playing or resorting to unfair means will be dealt with cancellation of all the papers of the concerned subject seized at the first instance. At the second time, the papers of all the subjects will be cancelled and at the third time, a Transfer Certificate will be given.

18. Problem Student

The case of any problem student will be reported by the Class Teacher to the Principal or Vice Principal for necessary action.

19. Leaving books, etc. in school

Leaving books and other things in school is not allowed. The students themselves will be responsible for loss of such things.

20. Holding picnics, parties

Holding of picnics or parties and the like without permission is not allowed.

21.Piercing ears

Girls are permitted to pierce their ears but are not permitted to wear earrings while wearing school uniform and during school hours.

Boys are not permitted to pierce their ears under any circumstances.

22.Tattoo

i)Imprinting of tattoos on any parts of the body is stricly prohibited.

ii)Body piercing and making artificial moles on any part of the body is strictly prohibited.

23.Misuse of sex

Any student who has indulged in sexual immorality will be given a TC.

24.Crime

A student committing any crime (i.e. against the law of the land) will be given a TC.

25.Leaving class

Students are not allowed to leave the class. If a student has a problem and needs to leave the class, he/she must report himself/herself to the Class Teacher.

26.Mobile phone

Keeping and using of mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets such as pendrive, discman, ipods, etc. is strictly prohibited in the school campus unless prior permission is obtained from the school authority for special occasion or for school functions. If a mobile phone in possession of student is found, ` 300.00 will be fined at the first time. For a second time offence, Rs 500.00 will be fined. Transfer Certificate will be given in the case of third offence.

27.Vehicles

Driving in school uniforms by a student is not encouraged and undesirable under any situation. Driving and bringing two wheelers or cars by a student to school premises or any vehicle is strictly prohibited. This is mainly for safety measures and to avoid all kinds of evils and temptations which can hamper their studies.

28.Tobacco

Consumption, keeping and possession of tabacco and other tobacco products such as Tiranga, Cigarettes, Zarda, Raja, Khaini, Baba, Supari, Betelnut, etc. is strictly prohibited at school.

29.Obscene Objects

Bringing obscene objects of any kind to the school in the form of cassettes, disc, literature, pictures, stickers, posters, stamps, books, magazines, etc. which can spoil a child’s moral psychology and character is strictly prohibited at school.

30.Absent and Leave

Any student who is absent from School (with and without leave) more than 25 days shall not be eligible for Promotion Examination

Special leave may be granted under the following cases:

a)If a student is ill for one week or more, his/her parents/guardian should report personally to the school authority with a written application accompanied by Medical Certificate.

b)If a student faces any special problem, his/her parents/guardian should report personally to the school authority

31.Other disciplinary rules

Any other disciplinary rule not mentioned herein, can be made by the school authority as and when the need arises.

If the student fined more than four times in any case, a TC may be given in the end session.

Special Note : If a student is expelled due to violation of any of the above rules and regulations, remarks in the Transfer Certificate be mentioned as ‘Violation of School Rules and Regulations’
